Amber halves are walnut kernels in whole halves with a brown to dark brown colour, graded as Amber in the trade. The taste stays mild, but the look is not meant for display. They make sense when the walnuts are ground, baked or mixed into a dark dough where colour is hidden.

Buying Amber walnut kernels wholesale
Amber halves come in 10 kg cartons, with a minimum order of one carton. They are priced below the Light grades, depending on the origin of the shipment. Ask for prices on +30 2541 200 900 or at sales@carpebo.com. Orders are dispatched from Thessaloniki within 2 to 3 working days of confirmation, across Greece and, by arrangement, to other EU countries.
Storage
The same rules apply as for any walnut kernel: 5 to 10 °C, up to 65% relative humidity, closed packaging and no strong odours nearby. A darker colour does not mean the kernels tolerate heat better.
Frequently asked questions
Are Amber kernels old?
Not necessarily. Kernel colour depends on the variety, the season’s weather and drying. Amber halves are sold as a separate colour grade.
Do they taste different from Light kernels?
The taste is mild, a little stronger than paler kernels. In sweets with chocolate or spices the difference goes unnoticed.
Do you have Amber quarters?
Ask our sales team which darker grades are available at the time of your order.
