Machine cracked halves are Greek Light walnut kernels from the same varieties as our hand cracked grade, cracked by machine instead of by hand. Most halves stay whole, though the carton also contains some pieces. That makes them cheaper and the sensible choice when the walnuts go into a dough or a filling.

Frequently asked questions

How many broken pieces are in a carton?

Most of the carton is whole halves. Machine cracking leaves a share of pieces, which makes no difference in doughs, fillings or ground walnut.

Why choose Greek over imported kernels?

Greek kernels come from domestic orchards and sweet, mild varieties such as Chandler and Franquette. Imported kernels are usually cheaper and more widely available through the year.

What is the minimum order?

One 10 kg carton. Larger volumes are priced by agreement.
