Frequently asked questions

What is the white powder on figs?

It is the fig’s natural sugar crystallising on the surface over time. It is not mould and does not affect the taste.

Do they contain added sugar?

No. The sweetness comes from the figs themselves, which are dried after harvest.

When is the new crop available?

Greek figs are harvested in summer and dried by the autumn. The new crop is usually available from September onwards.
